Sliced Bread Technical Architecture
This technical architecture information is aimed at a reader with a strong technical knowldege.
Technical Environment
Sliced Bread and its additional modules are written in PERL and will operate on many unix, linux* or solaris platform web server. The application does not require any formal back end database, however CRON access is required for auto publishing and deleting of content, however this is not mandatory.
Server Requirements
- Linux or Unix based Web Server
- Perl 5.0
- CGI-Bin
- FTP Access to the server
- LWP Module
Client Computer Requirements
- Internet Explorer ver 6 or
- Firefox on Windows, Mac or Linux
- Internet Connection
These standard requirements are for use of Sliced Bread and do not have an impact on the websites created using the system.
Web Page Scripting Language
Sliced Bread creates standards compliant HTML 4.0 Transitional, but can also use CSS 1.0 and CSS 2.0 site structures. The RSS feeds for the site can be output in either XML or standard RSS format.
Integration with other applications and customisation

* Sliced Bread does not operate on a Fedora Core Linux environment or Solaris Environment.
